At least you were able to get it off and didn’ t have to cut it off!

I had to use a sawsall to remove my end links.

Yup. So annoying, the stock ones on MINIs wear ou t and get noisy too. Pretty easy to replace though.

Man, that’s a long endlink. Well done!

That’s an interesting endlink. I wonder if it is a parts bin piece or something purposefully designed to correct some type of issue. I don’t think there are many similar endlinks on small cars with zirk fittings so it makes me think they had a constant squeak or high wear to correct an issue. Nice job!

The key to making it easy to get off in this case was to have both front wheels off the ground.

Well it’s 11 years old and the part I took off was a Moog branded part. So it’s probably not OEM. Same deal on the other side which is still ok.

I also bought a grease gun and greased the hell out of both joints on each of the end links... yes... even greased the new part as I saw it recommended in some YouTube videos.

I’m guessing the previous owner (and/or the mechanic they used)  probably didn’t even know these joints needed greasing every now and then

The problem getting them off is due to rust and the nut stripping
